  1. Smart Accounts is Shareware!

  3. The registration fee for Smart Accounts is ú20-00 (20 pounds Sterling) 
  4. plus VAT (17.5% as at August 1993) making a total of ú23-50. The fee
  5. includes shipping to countries in the EEC. Outside the EEC, cost is
  6. ú20.00 + ú2.00 P&P, total ú22.00.

  8. You are entitled to evaluate Smart Accounts for a period of up to 30 days. 
  9. If after that time you intend to continue to use the program you must 
  10. register it with the copyright owners, Oakley Data Services. 
  11. If you do not intend to continue to use the program you must delete it 
  12. from your system.

  14. Upon registration you will receive a registration code that will enable
  15. you to remove the start-up screen from the program. If there is a later 
  16. release of the program than you currently have you will also receive a copy
  17. of the later release. You will also receive demonstration versions of some
  18. of our other Shareware products.

  20. Shareware is copyrighted software which is distributed by authors through
  21. bulletin boards, on-line services, disk vendors, and by copies being
  22. passed among friends. It is commercial software that you are allowed to try
  23. before you pay for it. This makes shareware the ultimate in money back
  24. guarantees.

  26. Shareware is a distribution method, not a type of software.
  27. There is good and bad shareware, just as there is good and bad retail
  28. software. The primary difference between shareware and retail software
  29. is that with shareware you know if it's good or bad before you pay for it.

  31. You benefit because you get to use the software to determine whether it
  32. meets your needs, before you pay for it.  Authors benefit because they are
  33. able to get their products into your hands without the expenses it takes
  34. to launch a traditional retail software product.

  38. you use. It is the registration fees you pay which allow us to support and
